Krɑjïnɑ
Krɑjïnɑ is a vital gathering of bark, cork, rubber, wires, roots, plastic, electret capsules, motors, batteries, stones, speakers and integrated circuits. Being joint along the seams of our categories, they resonate, shake, feedback and tremble. They unite into a stream and twist, altering the polarity of assigned meanings, while we remain calm and unconsolidated.
In Krɑjïnɑ I cocreate together with material found on the coast of northern Portugal, analogue electronics and motorized sonic sculptures. I work with different levels of amplification, combinging acoustic sounds with their sonified appearences. I use DC motors as audio drivers for reproduction of field recordings and filter their sound by experimenting with physical quallities of various textures.
I present Krɑjïnɑ in performative, installative and site-specific contexts, often employing things found on site or other tools, such as electret microphones, pickup coils and sonic bugs.
the project was developed in Sonoscopia, Porto and Q-O2, Brussels through 2023.
